Synopsis
Brett Mallard and Lynda Aramento bring to life the characters of “George” a vulnerable yet self absorbed accountant and “Helen” an oblivious high school dropout with a blunt tongue and hyper-controlled emotions in this counter-intuitive tale of romance and adultery. First performed in 1975 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in New York this story of non-traditional love and devotion by Bernard Slade spans the emotional palate. While there are only two characters on stage we come to know their families and children through their storytelling of bits and pieces of the waxing and waning of their respective marriages. However, the focus remains on how Doris and George each change or stay the same in response to global, local and family events.
